As part of its annual tradition, People magazine has revealed its choice for the Sexiest Man Alive. This year, the title goes to actor Noah Wyle, known to audiences for his roles in the series «ER» and «The Pitt».

The 55-year-old actor revealed that his first thought was that it had to be a prank. His wife, Sara, quickly convinced him, however, that there was no reason to doubt he deserved the title.

In his interview with People, Wyle opened up about family, fame, and his own insecurities. Despite his decades-long career, he still feels uncomfortable talking about himself without a prepared script.

«I still feel awkward. It’s much easier for me to be someone else. The hardest thing for me is speaking as myself, without a script», the actor admitted.

Wyle also keeps busy in his everyday life. Among other things, he makes breakfast for his wife and daughter, journals every day, reads, and tries to find time for physical activity. His routine includes Pilates, kettlebell workouts, and walks with his dogs.

At home, Noah has one particular responsibility — doing the dishes. And he believes more men should be willing to pick up a sponge, too.

«I’m in charge of the dishes. The sink is my territory. I’d recommend that more men do the dishes, because it’s very therapeutic», Wyle said.

The actor is also open about his weaknesses. These days, his biggest guilty pleasure is buying things through Instagram. Hunting gear, in particular, is hard for him to resist.

«It always gets me: “You think you’re ready? No. You know what you need? This whole pile of stuff”», he joked.

Wyle has his principles, too. For one, he absolutely hates being late. He would rather arrive five to ten minutes early, find a parking spot without rushing, avoid the stress, and enjoy a drink at the bar. One of his more unexpected talents is catching flies with his bare hands. He has no intention of killing them, though — he releases the insects after catching them.

«It sounds weird, but I can catch flies. I catch them and let them go. My hands are really, really fast», the actor shared.

Fatherhood was another key topic of the conversation. According to Wyle, becoming a father changed his life dramatically and even influenced his decision to leave the series «ER».

«It was the biggest turning point in my life. That’s when I left ‹ER›. Before that, I’d never tried to finish work early so I could get home. And suddenly, I thought, “Where do you actually want to be?” So I quit», Wyle explained. He jokingly described his decision as «a divorce with visitation rights» and later returned to the show for its series finale.
