Stage legend and 79-year-old Academy Award winner Liza Minnelli has unveiled a new track titled Kids, Wait Til You Hear This. It marks her first musical release in 13 years.

The song was produced using artificial intelligence technologies. Minnelli was quick to emphasize, however, that her vocals on the recording are entirely authentic.

«I would never allow my voice to be cloned or copied. We used AI for the arrangement, not for the vocals. Every shout and every word in the track is mine», the singer wrote in a post on Instagram.

For many fans, the musical style came as a surprise: Kids, Wait Til You Hear This is a dynamic deep-house track, driven by a rhythmic beat and infused with energetic phrases and the star’s instantly recognizable intonations.

Notably, the song shares its title with Minnelli’s forthcoming memoirs – a detail that has only heightened interest in the release.

The artist explained that she turned to artificial intelligence in search of new forms of creative expression. According to her, music must always be rooted in connection and emotional sincerity, while new technologies should serve to support artists rather than replace them.

Minnelli also noted that such tools allow performers to remain full owners of their creative work – a principle that holds particular significance for her.
