<p style="text-align: center;"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-138994 size-full" src="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-48811115.jpg" alt="" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-48811115.jpg 1200w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-48811115-300x169.jpg 300w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-48811115-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-48811115-768x432.jpg 768w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-48811115-370x208.jpg 370w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-48811115-800x450.jpg 800w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-48811115-20x11.jpg 20w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-48811115-185x104.jpg 185w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-48811115-740x416.jpg 740w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-48811115-400x225.jpg 400w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-48811115-85x48.jpg 85w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>Known as «Marilyn Monroe’s Doll House», the property belonged to the actress shortly before her death in 1962. Built in 1961, it stands as a striking example of mid-century modern architecture, a style for which Palm Springs – particularly the prestigious neighborhood of <span class="whitespace-normal">Vista Las Palmas</span> – is renowned. The home was designed by architect <span class="whitespace-normal">Charles DuBois</span>, one of the key figures of «Desert Modernism», whose work left a lasting imprint on the city’s architectural identity.</p>
<p data-start="921" data-end="1307"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-138995 size-full" src="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-95781076.jpg" alt="" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-95781076.jpg 1200w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-95781076-300x169.jpg 300w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-95781076-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-95781076-768x432.jpg 768w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-95781076-370x208.jpg 370w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-95781076-800x450.jpg 800w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-95781076-20x11.jpg 20w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-95781076-185x104.jpg 185w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-95781076-740x416.jpg 740w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-95781076-400x225.jpg 400w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-95781076-85x48.jpg 85w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p data-start="921" data-end="1307">Although the house has undergone partial updates over the decades – including new tilework, appliances, and electrical systems – the original interior elements have been carefully preserved. All four bathrooms remain largely untouched – featuring pastel-colored finishes and sinks in creamy yellow, soft pink, and pale blue.</p>
<p data-start="1309" data-end="1505"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-138996 size-full" src="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-35909019.jpg" alt="" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-35909019.jpg 1200w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-35909019-300x169.jpg 300w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-35909019-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-35909019-768x432.jpg 768w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-35909019-370x208.jpg 370w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-35909019-800x450.jpg 800w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-35909019-20x11.jpg 20w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-35909019-185x104.jpg 185w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-35909019-740x416.jpg 740w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-35909019-400x225.jpg 400w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-35909019-85x48.jpg 85w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>According to listing agent <span class="whitespace-normal">David Emerson</span>, the previous owners were committed to maintaining the spirit of the era and the distinctive atmosphere of mid-century design.</p>
<p data-start="1507" data-end="1858"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-138997 size-full" src="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-45905802.jpg" alt="" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-45905802.jpg 1200w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-45905802-300x169.jpg 300w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-45905802-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-45905802-768x432.jpg 768w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-45905802-370x208.jpg 370w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-45905802-800x450.jpg 800w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-45905802-20x11.jpg 20w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-45905802-185x104.jpg 185w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-45905802-740x416.jpg 740w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-45905802-400x225.jpg 400w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/im-45905802-85x48.jpg 85w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p data-start="1507" data-end="1858">The home spans approximately 280 square meters – around 3,000 square feet. The layout includes a spacious open-plan living room with a fireplace, a separate dining room, an original semi-circular bar, and four bedrooms. Sliding glass doors along the main living area open onto a private courtyard – complete with a covered terrace, swimming pool, jacuzzi, and fire pit.</p>

<p>Vista Las Palmas was once a favored enclave for the vacation residences of stars of «Golden Age Hollywood», including <span class="whitespace-normal">Elvis Presley</span> and <span class="whitespace-normal">Peter Lawford</span>. Even today, Emerson describes it as «arguably the finest neighborhood in the city – thanks to its architectural heritage, mountain views, and close proximity to restaurants and downtown Palm Springs».</p>
