French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron have filed a defamation lawsuit in the Delaware Supreme Court (USA) against American conservative activist and podcast host Candace Owens.

The lawsuit refers to what it describes as «absurd claims» made by Owens, the most serious being her allegation that Brigitte Macron was born male under the name Jean-Michel Trogneux.

The legal filing also states that Owens publicly claimed the Macrons are blood relatives and that Emmanuel Macron is the product of a CIA experiment or a similar «mind control program».

According to Reuters, to win a defamation case in the U.S., plaintiffs must prove that the defendant acted with actual malice – meaning they knew the information was false or showed reckless disregard for the truth.

It’s worth noting that the conspiracy theory claiming Brigitte Macron was born a man first gained traction on social media in 2021.

French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte have arrived in the United Kingdom on an official visit. Upon disembarking from the plane, the presidential couple proceeded to Windsor Palace, accompanied by the Prince and Princess of Wales.

King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla were already awaiting the guests. Then, they all participated in a carriage procession along the Long Walk, retracing the route taken by Nicolas Sarkozy during his 2008 visit.

The agenda included an inspection of the Honour Guard and a review of the troops before their march. Later, a lunch was held at Windsor Castle, followed by a viewing of items from the Royal Collection related to France.

For the welcoming of the distinguished guests, Kate Middleton chose an elegant monochrome look – a powder-pink ensemble consisting of a fitted jacket and a tulle skirt. The stunning Dior outfit was complemented by a hat from British designer Jess Collett. Her jewellery included a pearl necklace and earrings that once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II.

Special attention should also be paid to the looks of France’s First Lady and the Queen Consort. Brigitte Macron appeared in a closed white dress adorned with golden details. Camilla also opted for a total look but in emerald green tones.

In the evening, the royal family hosted a lavish banquet in honour of the guests. While Kate wore a light-toned outfit during the day, in the evening she chose a wine-coloured cape dress, finished off with a luxurious tiara.

Brigitte Macron also opted for a cape-style dress, though in a blue hue, while Camilla welcomed the guests in a white ensemble.

Charles III, Emmanuel Macron, and the Prince of Wales all wore black tailcoats for the evening.

For the first time in four decades, the President of France paid an official visit to Norway. Emmanuel Macron, accompanied by his wife Brigitte, arrived in Oslo, where they were ceremoniously received by the royal family. The photo was published by the Royal House of Norway.

The visit began with a working lunch between the President of the French Republic and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre at the historic Akershus. After the lunch, an official meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s office.

While the President discussed state affairs, Brigitte Macron had a separate program: the First Lady spent time with Queen Sonja and Crown Princess Mette-Marit at the gallery named after the Queen.

Later during the visit, Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Ingrid Alexandra welcomed President Macron at a meeting with representatives of the business community.

The highlight of the day was a formal gala dinner hosted by the royal family in honor of the French delegation. Among the guests were Crown Prince Haakon and his wife, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, and Princess Astrid, Mrs. Ferner.

The evening menu impressed with its refinement: shrimp, lightly smoked trout tartare with sour cream, horseradish, caviar, and melon, halibut with vegetables and a shellfish sauce, and for dessert — plum with lilac ice cream, hazelnuts, and lemon.

Yesterday in France, the grand reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris took place. The cathedral underwent over five years of restoration after the fire that occurred on April 15, 2019. The fire destroyed part of the roof, caused the 750-ton spire to collapse, and damaged the famous gargoyles on the facades as well as the organ. Approximately 700 million euros were spent on restoring the structure.

About 40 heads of state attended the event, including French President Emmanuel Macron with his wife, newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who entered the cathedral to applause from the attendees.

Also present at the ceremony were the King and Queen of Belgium, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, the Prince of Wales, the Prince of Monaco, and actress Salma Hayek.

Among the guests was also Elon Musk, one of the VIP attendees invited alongside religious leaders and world leaders.

«All those who contributed to the restoration have shown us an example of what great nations can achieve. This cathedral was also a joyful metaphor of what a nation is and what the brotherhood of people should be. Notre-Dame tells us that our boldest dreams can come true. This cathedral reminds us that we are heirs to something greater than ourselves», said the French President in his speech.

The opening ceremony concluded with a performance by Pharrell Williams, who sang his famous track Happy.

French President Emmanuel Macron unexpectedly commented on reports that the events of the popular Netflix series «Emily in Paris» would be moved to Rome. Earlier, the show’s creators announced that by the end of the fourth season, the main characters would head to Italy’s capital.

Macron assured that France would «fight hard» to ensure that the series continues to unfold in the country.

The French leader believes the show has had a positive impact on the country’s appeal, as well as contributing to a rise in tourism to the capital, trade, and increased demand for real estate.

«We will ask them to stay in Paris. «Emily in Paris» in Rome is pure nonsense», —  said the French president.

In response, Rome’s mayor, Roberto Gualtieri, suggested Macron stay out of the matter.

«Dear Emmanuel Macron, don’t worry: Emily is having a great time in Rome. And you can’t command the heart; let her choose for herself», — he wrote on his social media page X.

Later, in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Gualtieri added:

«Does President Macron really not have more important matters to attend to?! I’d like to believe or at least hope that Macron was joking because he must know that an international company like Netflix does not take orders from heads of state and doesn’t make decisions under pressure», — said the mayor of the Italian capital.

Let’s recall that the plot of the series «Emily in Paris» revolves around 20-something American Emily Cooper, played by actress Lily Collins. She moves from Chicago to Paris and enjoys the good life in the French capital. The show is among the top-viewed series on Netflix, and the streaming platform has decided to renew it for a fifth season, set to take place in Rome.

Macron is known to be a long-time fan of «Emily in Paris», and his wife Brigitte made a brief cameo in the second part of the fourth season.

«I was very proud, and she was very happy to do it. It’s only a few minutes, but I think it was a very pleasant moment for her», — said the French president.
