Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have unveiled the first official trailer for «Dune: Part Three» – the concluding chapter of the epic adaptation of Frank Herbert’s legendary saga. The film, which Denis Villeneuve describes as the finale of Paul Atreides’ story, will open in Ukrainian cinemas on December 17, with its worldwide premiere following a day later.

The newly released footage offers the first glimpse of Arrakis 17 years after the events of «Dune: Part Two». Paul Atreides, once again portrayed by Timothée Chalamet, now rules the empire. Yet the power he fought so hard to attain proves to be not a triumph, but an immense burden. His gift of foresight no longer provides answers, and every decision he makes brings another catastrophe closer.

At the heart of the story is an adaptation of the novel «Dune Messiah», which Frank Herbert conceived as a meditation on the nature of power and the dangers of the cult of a charismatic leader. Timothée Chalamet echoed this idea during the trailer presentation in Los Angeles, noting that Paul’s moral crisis had been woven into the story by Herbert from the very beginning.

Alongside sweeping battles and breathtaking visuals, the trailer places a strong emphasis on the protagonist’s personal tragedy. Paul’s relationship with Chani, once again played by Zendaya, is pushed to the brink after his marriage to Princess Irulan. In one of the trailer’s most emotional moments, Chani accuses him of betraying his own promises in pursuit of power.

The film’s new antagonist is Scytale – a Tleilaxu Face Dancer portrayed by Robert Pattinson. He leads the conspiracy aimed at overthrowing the Emperor. The trailer also confirms the return of Duncan Idaho, who reappears as a ghola following the events of the first film.

Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy and Jason Momoa all reprise their roles, while Isaac de Bankolé joins the cast.

The trailer premiered during a special event in Los Angeles attended by Denis Villeneuve and Timothée Chalamet. At the same time, it was screened for fans in several cities around the world as part of a global IMAX presentation.

Villeneuve has repeatedly stated that the third installment will be the most emotional film of the trilogy. According to the director, while the first film introduced audiences to the world of «Dune» and the second chronicled war and Paul’s rise to power, the final chapter explores the price of power, the weight of responsibility, and the consequences of the choices we make.

Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. have unveiled the first teaser trailer for «Dune: Part Three» – the adaptation of the novel «Dune Messiah», developed by Denis Villeneuve and Jon Spaihts. The film will serve as the concluding chapter of the trilogy.

The story takes place 17 years after the second installment. Paul Atreides, having ascended to the imperial throne, wages a vast war across the galaxy, yet he is no longer able to fully control the consequences of his own power and the religious cult that has arisen around him. The narrative focuses not only on the epic confrontation but also on the hero’s internal struggle as he seeks to break the cycle of violence.

At the heart of the plot are the relationship between Paul and Chani, complicated by his political marriage to Princess Irulan. One of the key new characters will be the antagonist Scytale, played by Robert Pattinson.

Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, and Jason Momoa will reprise their roles. Anya Taylor-Joy will also appear as Alia – Paul’s sister.

According to Villeneuve, the third part will be the most personal in the trilogy, featuring a faster pace and an intensified action component. The film was shot on 65mm film, partially in IMAX format, and Hans Zimmer’s music will take on a fresh, new sound.

The film will conclude the story of Paul Atreides. Premiere – December 18.
