American actor Michael Douglas and his wife, Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, celebrated their wedding anniversary – exactly twenty-five years ago, the couple exchanged vows of lifelong devotion.

During this time, the couple welcomed two children: daughter Carys and son Dylan.

Despite long-standing rumors of potential crises in their relationship, the pair continues to demonstrate deep affection and love that has not faded over a quarter of a century.

To mark this special occasion, the actress shared a touching post on Instagram, accompanied by archival photographs. Among them were shots from their 2000 wedding as well as a picture taken at the moment of their first meeting.

«The intoxicating scent of flowers, the glow of candlelight, the loud Welsh choir – and you, looking at me in that way only you can… I love you today just as I did back then», Catherine Zeta-Jones wrote.

Michael Douglas also expressed his feelings via social media. In his short but heartfelt message, he wrote:

«Happy 25th anniversary, my dear Catherine. Who would have thought? With all my love, Michael».

For context, Douglas and Zeta-Jones first met at the Deauville Film Festival in 1998. In 1999, during a New Year’s trip to Aspen, Colorado, the couple announced their engagement. Their wedding took place in 2000 at New York’s Plaza Hotel.

The marriage of Hollywood stars Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones appears to be on the rocks, according to RadarOnline.

Sources claim the main reason for the tension in their relationship is the actor’s aging. Michael will turn 81 this September, and each year it becomes more difficult for him to stay mobile. Meanwhile, 55-year-old Catherine still leads an active lifestyle and isn’t ready to slow down.

«He’s no longer as energetic as he once was, and he struggles to keep up. Catherine has started to feel more like a caregiver than a wife, and that deeply upsets her,» an insider shares.

Additionally, Douglas’s age has become a factor pushing the actress to focus more on her career. She dreams of new roles and travel, but her partner can’t support her in this.

So far, the couple hasn’t officially commented on the situation, but rumors suggest they’ve already started dividing assets and selling off real estate — including properties in Mallorca, Bermuda, and New York.

Let us remind you that this is not the first rough patch in their relationship. Back in 2013, they nearly split due to the actor’s serious illness. At that time, they managed to save their marriage. The couple shares two children.

A luxurious apartment in Los Angeles, once home to Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, has been listed for sale. The upscale property is priced at $7 million.

The celebrity couple purchased two adjacent units in 1997 and combined them to carry out a major renovation.

In 2003, the current owner — the wife of Estée Lauder heir Leonard Lauder — bought the apartment from the Hollywood couple for $1.85 million.

Spanning 2,600 square feet (approx. 240 square meters), the apartment includes three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It features dark wood furniture, light carpeting, numerous artworks, and large panoramic windows offering views of the city skyline and the golf course at the Hillcrest Country Club.

One of the property’s standout features is a spacious peach-colored living room with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that lead to a dining terrace.

The apartment also includes a dining room, laundry room, a kitchen with a breakfast bar and high-end stainless steel appliances, and a family room with a built-in entertainment center. The slate-finished master bathroom has a large clawfoot tub and a separate shower.

The interior was designed in Old Hollywood style by renowned architect I. M. Pei, considered an icon of his time and a figure who redefined luxury in Los Angeles.

The apartment is located on the 23rd floor of one of the Century Towers buildings on Avenue of the Stars. Over the years, the complex has housed celebrities like Lana Turner, Diana Ross, Berry Gordy, Burt Lancaster, and Karen Carpenter.

Residents enjoy 24-hour guarded entry, concierge services, valet parking, a fitness center and sauna, a lap pool, golf green, and tennis courts. The monthly maintenance fee is $4,300.
