A few days ago, London hosted the British Film Institute’s BFI Fellowship ceremony. The event brought together many well-known figures from the film industry, including Cate Blanchett. The 56-year-old actress presented director Guillermo del Toro with one of Britain’s highest cinematic honors. He received the prestigious award in recognition of his many acclaimed film projects, including The Shape of Water, Pinocchio, Pan’s Labyrinth, Pacific Rim, Frankenstein, and others.

For what has recently become a rare public appearance, Blanchett chose a black gown from Maison Margiela’s new collection, featuring a plunging neckline, sheer panels, and ruffled details. The dramatic look was completed with knot-shaped earrings and an unusual wolf-head ring.

Last year, Cate Blanchett revealed her intention to step away from acting. She explained that she wanted to explore herself in other fields and pursue new creative directions.

As a reminder, the actress has been married to screenwriter and editor Andrew Upton since 1997. Together, they are raising three sons – Dashiell, Roman, and Ignatius. In 2015, the couple also adopted a daughter, Edith Vivian Patricia.
