<p>NFL star and Taylor Swift’s fiancé, Travis Kelce, has launched his own collaboration with American Eagle. According to WWD, the new line, titled Tru Kolors, will be released in two stages — the first debuted today, while the second is scheduled for September 24.</p>
<div style="width: 720px;" class="wp-video"><video class="wp-video-shortcode" id="video-134352-1" width="720" height="1280" preload="metadata" controls="controls"><source type="video/mp4" src="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/@trukolorsbrand-x-@americaneagle.mp4?_=1" /></video></div>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The collection features more than 90 pieces, ranging from vintage-inspired T-shirts and sporty jackets to cricket sweaters, rugby polos, versatile cargo pants, and even cashmere sets.</p>
<p>This marks American Eagle’s second celebrity partnership: earlier, the brand rolled out a large-scale campaign with actress Sydney Sweeney.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>A new advertising campaign by American Eagle, featuring «Euphoria» star Sydney Sweeney, has landed in hot water. The controversy stems from an ill-conceived pun based on the similarity between the English words «jeans» and «genes».</p>
<p><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-133393 size-full" src="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/2-17.jpg" alt="" width="1080" height="1350" srcset="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/2-17.jpg 1080w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/2-17-240x300.jpg 240w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/2-17-819x1024.jpg 819w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/2-17-768x960.jpg 768w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/2-17-370x463.jpg 370w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/2-17-800x1000.jpg 800w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/2-17-185x231.jpg 185w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/2-17-740x925.jpg 740w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/2-17-20x25.jpg 20w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/2-17-400x500.jpg 400w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/2-17-38x48.jpg 38w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></p>
<p>In one of the videos, Sweeney says: «Genes are passed down from parents to children, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My jeans are blue».</p>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/2DNyA-6X0cI?si=8ID2jMlp9QRZ5d1u" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" data-mce-fragment="1"></iframe></p>
<p>In another clip, the text on screen reads «Sydney Sweeney has great genes», which then shifts to the word «jeans».</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-133394 size-full" src="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/5-14.jpg" alt="" width="1080" height="1350" srcset="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/5-14.jpg 1080w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/5-14-240x300.jpg 240w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/5-14-819x1024.jpg 819w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/5-14-768x960.jpg 768w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/5-14-370x463.jpg 370w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/5-14-800x1000.jpg 800w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/5-14-185x231.jpg 185w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/5-14-740x925.jpg 740w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/5-14-20x25.jpg 20w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/5-14-400x500.jpg 400w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/5-14-38x48.jpg 38w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></p>
<p>Social media users criticized the wordplay, seeing it as a reference to eugenics – the pseudoscientific belief in «improving» the human race, which was especially popular in Nazi Germany.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-133395 size-full" src="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/3-13.jpg" alt="" width="1080" height="1350" srcset="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/3-13.jpg 1080w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/3-13-240x300.jpg 240w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/3-13-819x1024.jpg 819w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/3-13-768x960.jpg 768w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/3-13-370x463.jpg 370w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/3-13-800x1000.jpg 800w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/3-13-185x231.jpg 185w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/3-13-740x925.jpg 740w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/3-13-20x25.jpg 20w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/3-13-400x500.jpg 400w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/3-13-38x48.jpg 38w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></p>
<p>Further outrage was sparked by the choice of actress: some commenters felt that the campaign focuses on a stereotypically attractive look – a blonde woman with blue eyes – evoking associations with historical ideals of «proper» appearance that were used for ideological purposes in the past.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-133396 size-full" src="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/6-12.jpg" alt="" width="1080" height="1350" srcset="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/6-12.jpg 1080w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/6-12-240x300.jpg 240w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/6-12-819x1024.jpg 819w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/6-12-768x960.jpg 768w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/6-12-370x463.jpg 370w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/6-12-800x1000.jpg 800w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/6-12-185x231.jpg 185w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/6-12-740x925.jpg 740w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/6-12-20x25.jpg 20w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/6-12-400x500.jpg 400w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/6-12-38x48.jpg 38w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></p>
<p>Opinions, however, were divided. Some users pointed out that a similar approach was used in the well-known Calvin Klein ad with Brooke Shields in the 1980s and had no negative connotation. But critics argue that in today’s political and social climate – amid rising right-wing sentiment and Donald Trump’s election campaign – such imagery and messaging are, at the very least, controversial.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-133397 size-full" src="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/4-11.jpg" alt="" width="1080" height="1350" srcset="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/4-11.jpg 1080w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/4-11-240x300.jpg 240w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/4-11-819x1024.jpg 819w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/4-11-768x960.jpg 768w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/4-11-370x463.jpg 370w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/4-11-800x1000.jpg 800w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/4-11-185x231.jpg 185w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/4-11-740x925.jpg 740w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/4-11-20x25.jpg 20w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/4-11-400x500.jpg 400w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/4-11-38x48.jpg 38w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></p>
