The monument was unveiled in the actress’s hometown of Barranquilla as a symbol of recognition for Sofía’s talent, hard work, and love for her culture and roots. The Hollywood star has never hidden her pride in her hometown and has spent many years promoting it in the global media space.

The actress shared the joyful news on her social media:

«I never imagined that my story, my work, and my dreams would leave such a significant mark on this land that I love, respect, and miss so deeply. I am grateful to Barranquilla for everything I am».
