Even the most high-profile love stories come to an end – and not all of them end happily. For several global celebrities whose lives are constantly under the spotlight, the past year will be remembered for painful breakups and the dissolution of once-solemn marriage vows.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, Monica Bellucci and Tim Burton, Rami Malek and Emma Corrin – for all of them, 2026 represents a chance to start over with a clean slate.

We look back at the most talked-about and unexpected celebrity separations of 2025.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban

News of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s divorce became one of the most resonant stories of the year.

The couple had been married for nearly two decades and are raising two daughters: 17-year-old Sunday Rose, who is already taking her first steps in the modeling industry, and 14-year-old Faith Margaret, who was born via surrogate.

According to insiders, the split was initiated by the 57-year-old Urban, while the 58-year-old Kidman reportedly tried to save the marriage.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom

Another star couple whose story ended over the summer is Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. Representatives for both sides confirmed that the celebrities parted ways after six years together.

Western media outlets report that tensions escalated amid the singer’s professional challenges, including unsuccessful releases and a troubled tour.

The 40-year-old Perry and the 48-year-old Bloom share a five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove.

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren

After nearly 17 years of marriage, «Fantastic Four» and «Sin City» star Jessica Alba and film producer Cash Warren went their separate ways.

For some time, the couple refrained from public comment, but it later emerged that the marriage had officially ended due to «irreconcilable differences».

The 43-year-old actress shares three children with her former husband: 16-year-old Honor, 12-year-old Haven, and 7-year-old Hayes.

Monica Bellucci and Tim Burton

Another beautiful love story also came to an end: Monica Bellucci and director Tim Burton dated for around two years and never hid their affection, frequently appearing together at high-profile events.

The 61-year-old Bellucci spoke openly about her love for the 67-year-old filmmaker, who called the actress his muse. Yet in 2025, the two decided to continue their lives separately. The reasons behind the split remain unknown.

Rami Malek and Emma Corrin

American actor of Egyptian descent and 43-year-old Oscar winner Rami Malek and 29-year-old British actress Emma Corrin ended their relationship after two years together.

During that time, the couple became engaged and purchased a home in North London valued at approximately $6 million, but they never made it to the altar.

Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson

Ten years of marriage were not enough to save the relationship between singer and actress Jessica Simpson and former football player Eric Johnson. The couple parted ways decisively – seemingly for good.

The 44-year-old star and her ex-husband share three children: 12-year-old Maxwell Drew, 11-year-old Ace Knute, and five-year-old Birdie Mae.

The pair chose not to make the details of their breakup public.

Lily Allen and David Harbour

Lily Allen and David Harbour’s marriage lasted five years. Rumors of trouble began circulating after the singer withdrew from the public eye and sought psychological support.

The 40-year-old musician and the 50-year-old actor, best known for his role in Stranger Things, were married in Las Vegas during the pandemic. The couple has no children together.
