Visit to a London Hospital
After the New Year holidays spent at their Norfolk estate, the Prince and Princess of Wales have officially returned to their public duties. Their first engagement of the year was an unexpected visit to Charing Cross Hospital in west London.
Ahead of her 44th birthday, which Kate will celebrate on January 9, the Princess, accompanied by Prince William, visited the medical facility in their capacity as patrons of the charity NHS Charities Together to personally thank doctors and staff for their dedicated work. British hospitals are currently operating at full capacity due to seasonal viral illnesses, including influenza, Hello Magazine reports.
The royal couple met with doctors, patients, and volunteers who are helping to ease the burden on medical staff.
The Princess’s look also drew particular attention. For her first public appearance of 2026, she chose a tailored trouser suit in a deep burgundy shade, pairing it with a rich red blouse and a matching handbag.
