Sting’s daughter gets married in Italy

Fuchsia Kate Sumner, daughter of legendary musician Sting and actress Frances Tomelty, has officially tied the knot. Her husband is creative director Max Wright. The wedding celebration took place in the Italian town of Noto, Sicily, and lasted three days, gathering family, friends, and celebrity guests.

The bride’s family was present at the event, including her parents, siblings, and members of the creative community — actors, directors, and musicians. Fuchsia, who works as a director, described the weekend in her blog as «the happiest days of my life» — and the many photos from the celebration seem to confirm that.

The wedding festivities began on Friday, July 11, with a lively evening featuring live music performed by an Italian orchestra, a feast, and a theatrical performance titled «Una Serenata!» at the town theatre. For the occasion, Kate wore an elegant white lace gown by Maison Valentino with a high neckline and open back. The groom appeared in warm tones — a terracotta shirt and burgundy trousers.

The main ceremony was held the following day. Kate walked down the aisle in a stunning off-the-shoulder gown embroidered with initials. Max wore a light grey suit.

After exchanging vows, green and pink fireworks lit up the Sicilian sky, and the newlywed bride strolled through the town’s streets with a smile on her face.

Dinner at the Dimora delle Balze residence was filled with joy, Stevie Wonder’s music, and Mediterranean cuisine: guests were served pasta, seafood, and fish. Sting gave a speech, joking that at first, he wasn’t so sure about Max, but he quickly realized he was a wonderful person. Touching words were also shared by Kate’s brother Joe Sumner and sister Mickey.

Among the guests were DJ Mia Moretti, director Charlotte Colbert, actor Eliot Sumner with his partner, and the mayor of Noto, who personally welcomed Sting’s family, gifted the musician a book about the town, and thanked them for choosing Sicily for such a special occasion.

As a reminder, Kate is one of Sting’s six children. He has two children from his first marriage to Frances Tomelty and four with his current wife Trudie Styler, whom he has been with since 1992.

Kate and Max announced their engagement two years ago, and the bride recently celebrated her bachelorette party.
