Cristiano Ronaldo, the 40-year-old football legend, has decided to end his bachelor days — the athlete has proposed to his long-time love, 31-year-old Georgina Rodríguez.
The joyful news came from Georgina’s social media, where she shared a photo of a dazzling engagement ring featuring a large oval-cut diamond, accompanied by the heartfelt caption: «Yes, I do. In this life and in all others.»
According to New York gemologist Olivia Landau, the piece could be worth several million dollars, as the diamond is estimated to weigh over 10, possibly even 15 carats.
Ronaldo and Rodríguez have been together for nine years. They first met in 2016 at a Gucci boutique where she worked — a meeting that changed both of their lives forever. Georgina went from being a sales assistant to becoming an influencer, a red-carpet star, and the subject of her own Netflix show I Am Georgina. She has collaborated with brands such as Gucci, Prada, and Chanel, and later launched her own clothing line.
Despite her glamorous public life, Georgina has often admitted that the center of her universe is her family — a sentiment Cristiano fully supports. The football star has repeatedly said in interviews that Georgina helps him maintain calm and motivation off the pitch.
Today, the couple is raising five children: 15-year-old Cristiano Jr., twins Eva and Mateo, and daughters Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda. The athlete’s three eldest children were born via surrogates, while the two youngest are his and Georgina’s biological daughters. Georgina, however, makes no distinction between «hers» and «his,» loving each child equally.
Cristiano has previously explained why he waited so long to propose. He always had serious intentions, but wanted to find the perfect moment. Now, that moment has finally arrived.
