Prince William and Kate Middleton named among the most influential philanthropists
According to Time magazine
The Prince and Princess of Wales have been included in the prestigious Time 100 list of the most influential philanthropists of 2025, compiled by the American magazine Time. They were recognized in the «Innovators» category for their contributions to modernizing royal philanthropy.
Time highlighted their work through The Royal Foundation, which focuses on issues such as homelessness, mental health, and early childhood development. Notably, in 2020, Prince William launched the Earthshot Prize –an environmental award supporting innovative solutions for protecting the planet.
Special attention was given to Kate Middleton’s Shaping Us initiative, through which she collaborated with the LEGO Group and Deloitte to study the economic impact of investing in child development. The research found that such investments could contribute over £45.5 billion ($60 billion) to the UK economy annually.
«The key to the Welsh couple’s approach lies in aligning social imperatives with sound business strategies and forming corporate alliances to broaden their impact», the magazine noted.
Alongside the royal couple, other notable philanthropists included in the Time 100 list are David Beckham, Melinda Gates, Warren Buffett, Michael Bloomberg, Oprah Winfrey, and Dolly Parton.
