In the movie, Jolie plays Maxine, an American director who travels to Paris for Fashion Week and finds herself drawn into a fast-paced and dangerous journey between life and death, while simultaneously rediscovering herself.
In an interview with French media, the actress revealed that she was particularly drawn to this role because of the storyline involving cancer. Jolie’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, passed away in 2007 after a long battle with ovarian and breast cancer. This personal experience later prompted the actress to undergo preventive surgeries, including a mastectomy and the removal of her ovaries and fallopian tubes.
