In the family of David and Victoria Beckham – one of the most famous couples in the global entertainment industry – a prolonged conflict is ongoing. According to British media, their eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, has set a strict condition: from now on, his parents may communicate with him exclusively through lawyers.
Sources report that David Beckham was informed that the only acceptable channel of communication is the law firm Schillings.
«No other form of contact is permitted», a source told the press.
Insiders link this decision to Brooklyn’s reaction to unofficial media «briefings» discussing his wife, actress Nicola Peltz. The reports claimed that Nicola «controls» her husband, who is supposedly «held hostage» in the relationship.
Neither Brooklyn’s representatives nor David Beckham’s team have publicly commented on these reports.
Despite the tense relationship with his parents, Brooklyn is said to maintain contact with his grandparents – speaking with them by phone and private messages.
According to sources, the roots of the family conflict trace back to April 2022, at the wedding of Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz in Palm Beach, Florida. What was intended as a unifying event unexpectedly became the starting point of prolonged tensions within the family. Early rumors revolved around friction between Nicola and Victoria Beckham – particularly the bride’s decision not to wear a Victoria Beckham wedding dress, despite prior arrangements.
The situation reportedly worsened during the celebrations. Victoria allegedly drew the guests’ attention during a dance meant to be a special moment for Brooklyn and Nicola – a gift from Marc Anthony. After that, Brooklyn’s relationship with his parents reportedly began to deteriorate rapidly.
The conflict escalated further in May 2025, when Brooklyn and Nicola ignored David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebration – a gesture many interpreted as a clear sign of estrangement. The rift also became visible on social media: David and Victoria no longer follow Brooklyn on Instagram, and he, in turn, unfollowed not only his parents but also his brothers Cruz and Romeo. Nicola also does not follow David or Victoria, and there are no mutual follows.
Against this backdrop, Brooklyn’s younger brother, Cruz Beckham, publicly responded to the situation, refuting rumors that the parents had initiated the unfollows. In his Instagram Stories, he wrote: «Not true. My mom and dad would never unfollow their son. Let’s stick to the facts. They woke up and saw they were blocked… just like me». At the same time, Cruz indicated that he still hopes for reconciliation within the family.
Sources say that David and Victoria have repeatedly tried to establish dialogue. A family insider told People: «David and Victoria have asked Brooklyn and Nicola several times to meet and have a calm conversation to leave the conflict behind. David loves his children very much – they mean everything to him». However, according to the sources, Brooklyn himself is not yet ready to reach out; he currently prefers to keep his distance and focus on a peaceful life with Nicola, free from unnecessary drama.
