Nicolas Cage’s son avoids jail time for assaulting his mother

He was ordered to undergo psychiatric treatment
Weston Cage, the 34-year-old son of Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage, has avoided a prison sentence following a violent assault on his mother, Christina Fulton, last year. According to the Daily Mail, the court has ordered the actor’s son to undergo treatment and assigned him to a two-year psychiatric rehabilitation program.
«Mr. Cage indeed suffers from a relevant mental disorder. I am convinced that this was a significant factor in the commission of the alleged offenses. It is evident that he experienced a nervous breakdown at the time», stated Los Angeles County Judge Enrique Monguia.

Moreover, the judge added that the case could be fully dismissed by April 2027 if Weston follows medical directives and «stays out of trouble». In addition, the Hollywood star’s son has been prohibited from possessing any firearms for two years.

Weston’s lawyer, Michael A. Goldstein, stated that his client underwent intensive inpatient and outpatient treatment after the incident.
«He’s in a good place emotionally, he’s planning to get married. He moved away from his previous residence and is definitely making progress», the attorney emphasized.
