«Moana»: the first teaser for the live-action adaptation of the beloved animated

Starring Dwayne Johnson
Disney has unveiled the first teaser for the live-action adaptation of «Moana», a remake of the popular 2016 animated feature of the same name.
The story of the Polynesian princess will arrive on the big screen as a full-length feature film on July 10, 2026.
The Australian actress Catherine Laga‘aya stars as Moana, while Dwayne «The Rock» Johnson is – unsurprisingly – returning as the demigod Maui. In the film, the young heroine sets off on a perilous voyage across the ocean to find a mythical island in Polynesia and restore harmony to her world.
The film is directed by Thomas Kail, best known for staging the musical «Hamilton», and the cast also includes Frankie Adams, Rena Owen, and other New Zealand actors.
For reference, the original «Moana» and its sequel grossed more than $1.7 billion worldwide.
