Melania Trump’s Wedding Dress Is Up for Sale on eBay

For $45,000
An interesting item has appeared on the online auction site eBay: the famous Christian Dior dress designed by John Galliano, which Melania wore when she married Donald Trump in January 2005.
The first to report this was writer Liana Satenstein, who shared the news on her blog Neverworn. According to the author, her friend Patricia Thorvalds stumbled upon this remarkable find while searching for Dior wedding dresses from the 1980s. The seller claims that this dress is original and that she personally purchased it from Melania for her own wedding in 2010 for $70,000.
There is a nuance: the dress has undergone some minor modifications. The seller added a few details: a new satin layer on the hem, embroidery on the corset, and straps.
However, despite the seller’s claim, a source told Women’s Wear Daily that the authentic Melania Trump couture dress is located at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. Whether it’s true or fake remains a mystery, but the outfit strikingly resembles Mrs. Trump’s wedding ensemble.
Let us recall that Donald Trump proposed to his beloved in April 2004, and a year later, the couple tied the knot in Palm Beach. This marriage was Melania’s first, while Donald had previously been married to Ivana Trump and Marla Maples.
The selection of the wedding attire took place in Paris with the participation of Anna Wintour and André Leon Talley. Immediately after the wedding, Melania Trump posed in this dress for American Vogue, with the shoot directed by Mario Testino. The garment was crafted from 100 meters of white satin and adorned with 1,500 Swarovski crystals, making it a true hit in wedding fashion.
According to Vogue, the dress took 550 hours to make and weighed nearly 27 kilograms. The exact price of the dress is unknown: it is believed to be worth $200,000, although Melania herself mentioned a different figure –$100,000 – in one of her interviews.
