Media: Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin have broken up
After eight years together
Actress Dakota Johnson, best known for her role in «Fifty Shades of Grey», and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin are no longer a couple. They were together for eight years, but never made it to the altar.
This was reported by People, citing their sources. Although there had been breakup rumors before, insiders now say that «this time it’s final».
The couple themselves have not rushed to confirm the news.
The last time they were seen together was about two weeks ago, spotted on a walk in Malibu. Before that, in January, they traveled to India where Coldplay held a concert.
As a reminder, Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin started dating in 2017. In 2020, engagement rumors surfaced online. The couple even purchased a luxurious $12.5 million home in Malibu. In August 2024, the first breakup rumors emerged, which Johnson’s representative denied at the time, saying the couple was «happy together».
Prior to this, Chris was married for 10 years to Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow, with whom he has two children: daughter Apple and son Moses. Interestingly, Dakota has a close relationship with the musician’s ex-wife. Media had previously reported that all of them – including Gwyneth’s current husband, Brad Falchuk – maintain a warm relationship and even vacation together.
