Madonna reacts sharply to Trump’s «Coronation»

The singer is outraged by the comparisons
66-year-old singer Madonna has publicly expressed her outrage at the actions and political stance of the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump, who recently called himself the «king.»
On February 19, Trump announced on his social media the cancellation of paid entry to Manhattan, adding the phrase «Long live the king!» He also posted an image of himself wearing a crown, seemingly as a magazine cover for Time.
A similar post later appeared on the White House’s social media pages.
The singer described the politician’s statement as absurd, pointing out that the United States was originally founded by Europeans who sought to escape monarchical rule.
Madonna shared her thoughts on her personal social media pages, adding that even if Trump’s remark was meant as a joke, she found it far from amusing.
«I thought this country was built by Europeans escaping the rule of a king to create a new world where the people govern. Now we have a president calling himself ‘our king.’ If this is a joke, I’m not laughing,» wrote the pop icon, who has always been an advocate for free speech and democracy, never staying silent when action was needed.
Notably, American writer Stephen King also spoke out harshly against Donald Trump. After a long absence from the social media platform X, he resurfaced with a post:
«I just wanted to say that Trump is a traitor and a Putin lover. That goes double for Elon!» he wrote.
It is worth noting that Trump’s policies have sparked massive protests across the U.S. Citizens are protesting against pressure on immigrants and budget cuts. The largest demonstrations took place in Florida and California.
Protesters are also highlighting growing social inequality, the lack of support for social programs, and worsening conditions for certain groups, particularly women, minorities, and the poor.
The protests have also included demonstrations against Elon Musk, who has become an influential figure in Trump’s political circle. His role in the government has drawn criticism from opponents who argue that Musk wields excessive influence over state policies, particularly in sectors such as energy and technology.
