Maddox, Son of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Drops His Father’s Surname
Following in His Sisters’ Footsteps
Maddox, the 24-year-old adopted son of the former Hollywood couple, recently worked as an assistant director on the film Couture, which is currently screening in French cinemas. Attentive viewers noticed that he omitted the well-known surname Pitt from his full name, appearing in the credits as Maddox Jolie.
The move came as little surprise, as nearly all of the couple’s children have, at various times, distanced themselves from their famous father. Upon turning 18, their biological daughter Shiloh Jolie filed legal documents to drop the surname Pitt. Daughters Zahara Jolie and Vivienne Jolie reportedly followed suit, although it remains unclear whether their changes have been legally formalized.
Maddox Jolie worked on Couture alongside his mother, who stars in the film opposite Louis Garrel. Incidentally, the two have recently been the subject of persistent rumors about a possible off-screen romance.
