The new celebrity mom chose to ignore the negative comments, but her husband responded and defended their family.
«Thank you for all the kind messages and love. We are so happy and grateful. As for the unkind messages about surrogacy and our journey to parenthood – it’s okay not to be an expert on surrogacy. It’s okay not to know why someone might need a surrogate to have a child. It’s okay not to understand a surrogate mother’s motives, no matter what assumptions you make. And it’s okay to spend less time spewing words of hatred into the world, especially about a beautiful little girl who has brought so much love into people’s lives», he wrote on social media.
As a reminder, Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell have been together since 2019, and the couple got married in 2021.
