Laetitia Casta, Tina Kunakey, and other celebrities at the Jacquemus SS’26 show

A show at the Palace of Versailles
As part of Paris Fashion Week, the Jacquemus SS’26 collection was unveiled in a stunning setting — the Palace of Versailles. The atmospheric venue welcomed a host of star-studded guests: Laetitia Casta, Gillian Anderson, Emma Roberts, Tina Kunakey, as well as Matthew McConaughey with his wife Camila Alves, Aya Nakamura, and others.

The brand’s designer, 35-year-old Simon Porte Jacquemus, impressed the audience not only with stylish looks but also with a deeply personal story that inspired the collection. Named after his late mother, the brand this time offered a fashion narrative about the designer’s family — farmers from the south of France.
«It was a gesture of gratitude. When I told my grandmother, grandfather, and father that I wanted to become a designer, they said: ‘Yes, go on. You’ll be the best.’ They believed in me and gave me the confidence. They gave me that,» Jacquemus shared.
Ahead of the show, the designer prepared a photo album in the style of a family archive: black-and-white and color photos showcased the rural life of his loved ones and harvest scenes of carrots, beans, lettuce, and potatoes — in the fields where Simon grew up.
As always with Jacquemus, the collection impressed with its simplicity and symbolism. Natural materials like cotton and linen conveyed modesty and connection to the land, while the silhouettes referenced rural wardrobes: voluminous skirts, long straight-cut shirts, knits, headscarves, and dresses with «tablecloth-style» cuts.
The color palette was sunny and warm, like the landscapes of southern France: white, sand, sea green, and orange.
«This is a story about my roots and my journey forward,» the designer said at the end of the show.
His grandmother, seated in the front row, couldn’t hold back tears — and the touching moment became an emotional finale to this very personal presentation.
