King Charles III releases limited edition teddy bear collection
As part of a charitable initiative
King Charles III of the United Kingdom has launched an unexpected and heartwarming initiative – an exclusive collection of teddy bears titled HM King Charles III. These special bears are available at the Highgrove House and Gardens gift shop.
Only 1,948 bears will be produced, marking the year of the King’s birth. Each bear is individually numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
The price of one bear is £224.
The toys are crafted by the renowned British company Merrythought, famous for creating the iconic Paddington Bear. Made from premium materials – silver mohair plush, soft velvet, and detailed golden embroidery – the bears feature royal symbols representing the highest honors of the British Crown.
On their paws are the Royal Coat of Arms and the manufacturer’s logo. On the shoulder, miniature versions of the Royal Victorian Order ribbon and the Order of the Garter star are displayed.
The bear’s appearance reflects King Charles’s «royal wisdom and dignity». It has blue eyes and a subtle smile.
Each bear is packaged in an elegant gift box. The item is a collector’s piece intended for adults and not a toy for children.
Proceeds from the sales will support The King’s Foundation, a charity founded by Charles III. The foundation focuses on youth programs, veteran support, and environmental initiatives.
Interestingly, King Charles has loved teddy bears since childhood. According to Prince Harry, the King never parted from his favorite bear, Teddy. Even now, it is said that the monarch still keeps it – cared for by his personal valet.
