King Charles III hospitalized — he is fighting cancer

Due to side effects of the treatment
King Charles III of the United Kingdom has been forced to cancel all official engagements planned for Friday due to temporary side effects from cancer treatment. This was reported by Buckingham Palace, as conveyed by The Independent.
The 76-year-old monarch visited a London hospital the day before, where he had undergone a course of therapy in 2024. The palace explained that he required short-term medical hospitalization. After medical examination and a brief stay at the facility, Charles III was discharged home.
The king apologized to those inconvenienced by the cancellation of the events. It is known that his wife, Queen Camilla, did not accompany him to the hospital.
It should be noted that in February 2024, Buckingham Palace prepared a plan for the transfer of power in the event of King Charles III’s death. The document, codenamed «Menai Bridge», envisions his son, Prince William, ascending the throne.
Shortly after this, Charles III announced that he had been diagnosed with an oncological disease but did not disclose its type. Despite this, the monarch returned to performing part of his duties as early as April while continuing treatment.
