Kate Winslet to direct a film written by her son
The cast has already been announced
British actress Kate Winslet is set to make her directorial debut in the near future. Moreover, the 49-year-old star will direct her first film based on a script written by her 21-year-old son, Joe Anders. According to Variety, the film will be a family drama titled Goodbye, June and will be released on Netflix.
Winslet will not only direct the film but will also appear on screen, playing one of the leading roles alongside Toni Collette and Helen Mirren. The cast will also include Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, and Timothy Spall.
Details of the plot are not yet disclosed, but it is reported that the story will revolve around «estranged siblings who come together under difficult circumstances».
