Julia Roberts to Receive the Ceasar Award

For her achievements in cinema
Hollywood actress Julia Roberts will be honored with the prestigious Ceasar Award for her invaluable contribution to the film industry.
The jury of the French Academy highlighted the diversity of the 56-year-old star’s cinematic roles, from romantic comedies like «My Best Friend’s Wedding» and «Notting Hill» to dramatic films such as «The Pelican» and «Erin Brockovich». The experts also recognized Roberts’ performance in «Pretty Woman» alongside Richard Gere. Her role as Vivian Ward earned Julia a Golden Globe for Best Actress and an Academy Award nomination.
«Julia Roberts’ cultural influence extends far beyond cinema. Off-screen, she is involved in charity work, serves as a UNICEF ambassador, and advocates for people around the world. Julia also cares deeply about the environment, participates in films about protecting the planet, and is an active campaigner for women’s rights», — reads a statement from the Academy quoted by Deadline.
The 50th Ceasar Awards ceremony will take place in Paris at the Olympia Hall on February 28, 2025.
Previous recipients of the Ceasar Award include Christopher Nolan, David Fincher, Cate Blanchett, Robert Redford, and George Clooney.
