Jeff Bezos booked the most elite hotels in Venice for his wedding

A lavish ceremony
Next week, Venice will transform into the epicenter of one of the most anticipated events of the year — the wedding of 61-year-old American billionaire Jeff Bezos and his fiancée, 55-year-old journalist Lauren Sanchez.
Rumors about the scale of the celebration have been circulating for a while — and it truly promises to be grand. Bezos has practically “booked” the entire city of Venice for the event.
According to the Daily Mail, festivities will begin on June 26 and will last for two days. A few more interesting details have also emerged: the celebrations will take place on the $500 million megayacht Koru, which will be docked near the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, just across from St. Mark’s Square. As a result, the island will be closed to visitors for several days.
Around 200 celebrity guests are expected to attend the wedding. For them, Bezos has reserved the five most elite hotels in Venice — Aman Canal Grand Hotel, Danieli, Belmond Cipriani, Gritti Palace, and St. Regis — where one night costs no less than $2,000.
Bezos has also booked one of Venice’s most iconic buildings — the former Renaissance-era confraternity Scuola Grande della Misericordia (which will serve as the main venue for the festivities), as well as the Church of San Giorgio, where the wedding ceremony itself will take place.
