Jean-Claude Van Damme gets into a sex scandal

A criminal case has already been opened

Actor Jean-Claude Van Damme is at the centre of a high-profile scandal. He is accused of sex trafficking. A complaint against the actor was registered with the Romanian Directorate for Combating Terrorism and Organised Crime (DIICOT) in Iasi.

It is alleged that 10 years ago, Van Damme used the sexual services of underage Romanian girls who were «presented to him as a gift». This was reported by one of the alleged victims.

According to media reports, the girls were recruited by organisations operating under the guise of modelling agencies. Subsequently, the victims were subjected to sexual exploitation «with the use of psychological coercion», which Jean-Claude, as one of the defendants in the case says, was well aware of.

Van Damme is suspected of three counts of human exploitation, participation in a criminal association and human trafficking.

The accused’s lawyer, Adrian Cuculis, explained that since the crimes could have been committed outside Romania, the country’s Prosecutor General has the right to initiate an international investigation.

This means that Van Damme may soon be summoned to the General Prosecutor’s Office. There is no official comment from the actor or his representatives at this time.
