Recently, the British royal couple, King Charles III and Queen Camilla, celebrated their porcelain wedding anniversary – the pair has been married for 20 years. For the first time, the Queen opened up about her thoughts on married life and revealed the secret to her and His Majesty’s long-lasting union.
According to the 77-year-old Queen, the key to a successful marriage is friendship and a shared sense of humour.
«20 years – who would have believed it’s already been 20 years? What’s the secret? I don’t know. Well, I suppose it’s just a certain friendship, really. Laughing at the same things, getting through life together», Camilla said, as quoted by The Mirror.
The Queen also admitted that she and her husband would celebrate their anniversary after returning home from their official visit to Italy, as they currently hardly cross paths due to their busy schedules. However, Her Majesty has already prepared a gift for the King.
«We’re constantly moving in opposite directions, like ships in the night. We just pass each other by», the Queen joked, adding: «Yes, I’ve got something. Because it is a porcelain anniversary, after all».
