«I’m not going to apologize»: Millie Bobby Brown responds to criticism about her appearance

Following her recent public appearances
21-year-old British actress Millie Bobby Brown, who has been criticized by the media for looking «too mature» in her latest outings, refused to stay silent. The Stranger Things star took to Instagram to address her haters directly and express her frustration.
According to Millie, discussions about her appearance in the media and on social networks affect not only her but every young woman.
The actress believes that when someone grows up in the public eye, people don’t notice their own changes but are quick to criticize others.
«I started working in this industry when I was 10. I grew up in front of the whole world, and for some reason, people can’t seem to grow with me. Instead, they act as if I’m supposed to be frozen in time. And since that’s not the case, I’ve become a target. Bullying: grown adults spend their time discussing my face and body,» the star emphasized.

Brown added that for the sake of clicks, tabloids find it easier to spread hate rather than publish something positive.
«Disappointed people can’t stand to see a girl becoming a woman on her own terms, not theirs. I’m not going to apologize for growing up. I refuse to make myself look younger to fit the unrealistic expectations of those who can’t handle seeing a girl turn into a woman. I will not be ashamed of how I look, how I dress, or how I present myself,» Brown concluded in her video statement.
