«I was consuming everything»: Brad Pitt admits to alcoholism for the first time

Hollywood actor Brad Pitt, currently riding high on the success of his new film «Formula 1», has for the first time opened up about his struggles with alcohol abuse.
According to the 61-year-old star, after his high-profile divorce from Angelina Jolie, he went through a difficult period, feeling lost and depressed. This led him to seek help from an Alcoholics Anonymous group.
«I was on the edge. I needed to reset myself somehow, to find inner balance. I was consuming everything I could get my hands on. Those were hard times», Pitt said in an interview on the podcast «Armchair Expert».
Brad noted that the supportive and honest atmosphere of the AA meetings played a key role in helping him overcome his personal crisis.
«I saw people openly talking about their mistakes, fears, hopes. They shared their pain, but also knew how to laugh at themselves. That really made a strong impression on me», the actor admitted.
Now Pitt has overcome this harmful habit – and perhaps his happy relationship with 32-year-old Ines de Ramon has also contributed to this change.
