«I No Longer Recognize My Country»: Angelina Jolie Criticizes Life in the United States

The star considers relocating
Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie attended the San Sebastián Film Festival in Spain, where she presented her new film Couture. During a press conference, the star candidly admitted that the current political and social climate in the United States deeply troubles her.
«I believe anything that restricts freedom and self-expression is dangerous. At this point, I no longer recognize my country. My life has always been connected to different cultures, my family is international, and I think globally,» Jolie said.
The actress added that the times are so challenging that even she feels compelled to weigh her words carefully. «We must be cautious and avoid saying too much… These are very, very difficult times,» emphasized the Oscar winner.

According to Western media, Jolie is seriously considering a move to Europe and is already seeking a buyer for her Los Angeles estate. For now, however, she cannot leave California: under her custody agreement with former husband Brad Pitt, the actress must remain close to her youngest children — 17-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox — until they reach adulthood.
The former couple also shares older children: 24-year-old Maddox, 21-year-old Pax, 20-year-old Zahara, and 19-year-old Shiloh. As a source told the Daily Mail, Jolie never intended to live in Los Angeles permanently, and once the custody arrangement ends, she plans to leave the city.
