48-year-old Huma Abedin, former vice chair of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, has married 39-year-old Alexander Soros — the son of well-known investor George Soros. The lavish ceremony took place at a $14.5 million estate in Southampton.

The wedding had two parts: a Muslim ceremony in honor of the bride and a Jewish ceremony in honor of the groom. The event was attended by many influential friends and family, including Jimmy Fallon, Rory Gates and his father Bill Gates, Kamala Harris, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, George and Amal Clooney, Diane von Fürstenberg and her husband, media magnate Barry Diller, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, and Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue.

Thanks to Wintour, Vogue published a photo story of Huma’s wedding dress fittings. According to media reports, it was Hillary Clinton who insisted on the grand celebration, believing that her longtime aide deserved a festive occasion.

The bride wore a Givenchy gown for the first part of the ceremony and changed into a second dress by Erdem. Her first look was inspired by Audrey Hepburn, while the second paid tribute to Grace Kelly.

Guests enjoyed truffle agnolotti, wagyu bavette steaks, and grilled shrimp. For music, the popular 1990s R&B group Boyz II Men performed live.

Abedin is widely known not only for her political career but also for her personal life. About ten years ago, her first husband — Congressman and Clinton family friend Anthony Weiner — became embroiled in a global scandal. It was revealed that he had been sending nude photos of himself under the alias «Carlos Danger.» At the time, he was a sitting congressman and was forced to resign. He later repeated the behavior, leading to another scandal two years later.

Throughout these events, Abedin stood by his side. However, in 2016, when one of Weiner’s new explicit photos included their son in the background and later it was revealed he had been messaging a minor, Abedin filed for divorce. The legal process took several years, and it was only finalized in early 2025.

Abedin’s current husband, Alexander Soros, was once known as a socialite and partygoer, fond of hosting extravagant events in the Hamptons and spending time with models. In recent years, however, he has focused on his professional work with the Soros Foundation and now leads a more low-key lifestyle.
