Guy Ritchie ls filming a series about young Sherlock Holmes

Here’s a first look!
Amazon Prime Video has unveiled the first stills from the upcoming detective series Young Sherlock, directed by Guy Ritchie. The project serves as a prequel to Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic stories and follows the very first investigations of 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes.

The series is based on Andy Lane’s Young Sherlock Holmes novels. In the story, the young protagonist takes on a high-profile case – the mysterious murder at Oxford University. His investigation soon leads him into the heart of a far-reaching conspiracy.

The lead role is played by Hero Fiennes Tiffin, who previously worked with Ritchie on The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. The series will also feature Joseph Fiennes and Natascha McElhone as Sherlock’s parents, Silas and Cordelia. Mycroft Holmes will be portrayed by Max Irons. Other stars joining the cast include Colin Firth, Donal Finn and Zhen Zinine.

The first season will consist of eight episodes. Young Sherlock is set to premiere in 2026, marking Guy Ritchie’s return to the Sherlock universe after more than a decade. He previously directed Sherlock Holmes (2009) and A Game of Shadows (2011), starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.
