Granddaughter of Iran’s last monarch marries a Jew

Amid tensions between the two countries
This weekend in Paris, 31-year-old Iman Pahlavi — granddaughter of the last Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi — got married. Her chosen one is American entrepreneur of Jewish descent, Bradley Sherman, according to The Jewish Chronicle.
The couple has been in a relationship for four years and announced their engagement in August 2023. Iman was born in the United States, holds a degree from the University of Michigan in psychology and communications, and works in the financial sector. Her husband, Bradley Sherman, is an expert in IT and e-commerce and a partner at Matternet, a company engaged in commercial drone delivery.
It is noted that the official marriage registration took place a month ago in New York, in the presence of close family members, including Iman’s father, Reza Pahlavi, the crown prince of Iran. After the 1979 Islamic Revolution that overthrew the monarchy, Reza left the country with his family. Following his father’s death in 1980, he became the head of the Pahlavi dynasty and remains a vocal critic of the current Iranian regime, living in the United States.
The news of Iman Pahlavi’s marriage has attracted particular attention amid the rising tensions between Iran and Israel. Although diplomatic ties between the two countries were severed after the Islamic Revolution, before 1979 they maintained close economic and military relations. Iran used to supply Israel with oil, gas, minerals, and food products.
Now, in June 2025, the conflict between Iran and Israel has escalated again — the two sides are exchanging airstrikes, signaling further intensification of regional tensions.
