Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron visited Norway

Official visit

For the first time in four decades, the President of France paid an official visit to Norway. Emmanuel Macron, accompanied by his wife Brigitte, arrived in Oslo, where they were ceremoniously received by the royal family. The photo was published by the Royal House of Norway.

The visit began with a working lunch between the President of the French Republic and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre at the historic Akershus. After the lunch, an official meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s office.

While the President discussed state affairs, Brigitte Macron had a separate program: the First Lady spent time with Queen Sonja and Crown Princess Mette-Marit at the gallery named after the Queen.

Later during the visit, Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Ingrid Alexandra welcomed President Macron at a meeting with representatives of the business community.

The highlight of the day was a formal gala dinner hosted by the royal family in honor of the French delegation. Among the guests were Crown Prince Haakon and his wife, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, and Princess Astrid, Mrs. Ferner.

The evening menu impressed with its refinement: shrimp, lightly smoked trout tartare with sour cream, horseradish, caviar, and melon, halibut with vegetables and a shellfish sauce, and for dessert — plum with lilac ice cream, hazelnuts, and lemon.
