Donald Trump backs Sydney Sweeney after controversial jeans ad

«That’s fantastic,» said Trump
Following the controversy surrounding the American Eagle jeans campaign featuring actress Sydney Sweeney, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his support for her, according to the Daily Mail.
During a press meeting in Pennsylvania, Trump was informed about the actress’s political affiliation. He learned that the «Euphoria» star had registered as a member of the Republican Party in Monroe County, Florida, back in June last year.
«Oh, now I like her ad. You’d be surprised how many Republicans are out there. I didn’t know that, of course, but I’m glad you told me. If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is just fantastic,» Trump remarked.
Sweeney had recently come under fire for alleged Nazi propaganda due to her appearance in the American Eagle campaign. The controversy stemmed from the slogan of the collection, «Sydney Sweeney’s got great jeans,» which in English is a play on words: great jeans/great genes. Online users claim the ad alludes to eugenics, Nazism, and white supremacy.
