«Devastated»: Angelina Jolie snubbed for an Oscar nomination due to Brad Pitt

Amid the public divorce of the actors
Recently, the Academy announced the contenders for the planet’s top film award — the Oscars 2025. However, it’s impossible not to notice that Hollywood star Angelina Jolie and her biopic Maria were absent from the list of nominees. In the film, Jolie not only played the lead role of opera diva Maria Callas but also produced the movie.
This news came as a shock to the 49-year-old actress, as Jolie had hoped that the jury would recognize her film, which marked her long-awaited return to the big screen after a multi-year hiatus.
According to insiders, the celebrity was disappointed because she put tremendous effort into promoting the movie.
«The Academy’s snub devastated Angie, who was so eager to be nominated. She’s heartbroken. Look at how much she’s done for the film. She appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon — her first late-night appearance in over a decade. She even attended the Gotham Awards. She was on all these magazine covers. The lack of recognition is painful for Angelina, and she’s undeniably upset,» an insider told PageSix.
According to insiders, the reason for the jury’s «snub» lies in Jolie’s public and prolonged conflict with Brad Pitt.
«It just shows that Hollywood is siding with Brad. The Golden Globes showed that the foreign press loves her, but that’s not Hollywood. Nobody was going to go against Brad and vote for Angelina… people just love Brad,» the source said, as quoted by the media.
