Demi Moore reflects on embracing age

As featured in Glamour magazine
In the late 1990s, Demi Moore was considered one of the most beautiful and desirable women in the world. Her marriage to Bruce Willis only amplified her fame, making them one of Hollywood’s most talked-about couples.
But with time, things changed: directors offered her fewer prominent roles, her divorce was followed by a series of unsuccessful relationships, and her second marriage to Ashton Kutcher failed to live up to expectations. A period marked by personal struggles and ill-fated cosmetic surgeries seemed like a point of no return – yet life took a different turn.

The turning point came when the actress turned 60. Moore managed to regain not only her shape but also her self-confidence – and landed a role in the ambitious film The Substance. The film earned her the first Golden Globe of her career and an Oscar nomination. Since then, interest in the actress has surged once again: she’s been invited to interviews and photo shoots, admired for her elegance and inner strength.

Recently, Demi Moore graced the cover of Glamour’s new issue – and for good reason: the magazine named her «Woman of the Year». She appeared in a stunning photo series styled by Brad Goreski and shot by Thomas Whiteside. For the shoot, Moore wore striking looks by leading fashion houses including Thom Browne, Gucci, Saint Laurent, Burberry, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, and Victoria Beckham.
On the cover, she poses in a sculptural Harris Reed gown paired with Thom Browne heels and exquisite Chopard earrings.

In her candid interview with Glamour, the actress reflected on redefining success, accepting aging, and discovering new freedom.
«For people my age, there aren’t as many opportunities as there are for those in their thirties. That’s not a complaint, just an observation. If I want to keep doing what I love, I may have to work a little harder… But nothing’s over until you decide it’s over», she shared.

Moore emphasized that she doesn’t aim to compete with younger women, believing that mature beauty carries a special allure. She also rejects imposed stereotypes – like the idea that women of a certain age should give up long hair.
«I think that kind of thinking robs women of their sensuality. After playing G.I. Jane, when I had to shave my head, I immediately started growing my hair back – and I’ve never considered cutting it short again», she said.

Today, Moore says she feels more complete and liberated than ever before:
«I think it’s because I’m full of energy right now. I feel more centered, and that sense of wholeness inspires me to explore new possibilities. When I look at women like Helen Mirren, I think, «My God, she’s over eighty and still so dynamic, multifaceted, incredible». It fills me with confidence – there’s still so much ahead of us».
