David Beckham in a Cozy Autumn Photoshoot for Country Life

Football legend David Beckham has taken on a new role — that of guest editor for the October issue of the quintessentially British countryside magazine Country Life.
The athlete not only selected the themes, features, and visual concept of the issue but also appeared as its cover star, posing for a warm, rustic autumn photoshoot captured at his own estate in the Cotswolds.

In the series, the 50-year-old former footballer embodies the life of a true country gentleman — tending to his vegetable garden, beekeeping area with 27 hives, orchard, chicken coop, and Estonian sauna. According to Beckham, working the land has become his way of recharging and finding balance after years in the spotlight of professional sport.

This Country Life issue featuring Beckham marks the 1,000th edition of the magazine and celebrates the beauty of rural living, which the former England captain describes as «the true soul of England.»

Beckham revealed that he has long been a devoted reader of Country Life, admitting that he enjoys it «from cover to cover.» He dedicated his issue to the people who keep Britain’s rural heritage alive — gardeners, artisans, architects, and chefs who continue to preserve and revive the culture of countryside living.
«It’s a great honour to be a guest editor for Country Life,» Beckham shared. «I wanted to create an issue that celebrates everything I love about the countryside — the stories, the people, and the passion that inspire me. I hope readers enjoy it as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it together.»
