A warm welcome at the White House
Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo, accompanied by his fiancée Georgina Rodríguez, paid a visit to the President of the United States.
The footballer, who currently plays for Saudi club Al-Nassr, met Donald Trump’s family for the first time. Ronaldo and his partner were honored guests at a formal dinner held at the White House in tribute to the visit of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, ESPN reports.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was deeply impressed and inspired by the meeting with the country’s leader. Cristiano shared a series of photos on social media, in which he is seen posing with his fiancée and Donald Trump.
«Thank you, Mr. President, for the invitation and the warm welcome you and the First Lady extended to me and my future wife. Each of us has something meaningful to contribute, and I am ready to play my part by inspiring new generations to build a future founded on courage, responsibility, and lasting peace», the 40-year-old footballer wrote in the caption.
The official event brought together some of the most influential figures from politics, sports, and technology. Among the attendees, in addition to Ronaldo, were FIFA President Gianni Infantino and entrepreneurs Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.
