Bella Hadid Opens Up About Living with Lyme Disease

In an interview with Vogue
Twenty-nine-year-old Bella Hadid has become the cover star of the latest issue of the Italian edition of Vogue. The supermodel graces the magazine’s cover and appears in a fashion shoot wearing looks by Gucci, Saint Laurent, and Valentino. In the accompanying interview, she spoke about the professional challenges she has faced as a result of Lyme Disease.

Hadid admitted that the illness has significantly affected the way she works. In recent years, the model has often taken breaks from her career to focus on her health, though coming to terms with this necessity was not easy for her.

«I cried every time I had to turn down work because of my illness. I felt that people could forget about me at any moment, and I felt completely helpless,» Bella continued, adding that the fear of «becoming irrelevant» once drove her to accept almost every project offered to her.

Today, the model is trying to find a healthier balance between work and rest, and she is no longer afraid to decline opportunities that conflict with her values.
