A perfect likeness: Gillian Anderson reacts to her own wax figure

A work of exquisite craftsmanship
Madame Tussauds in London has unveiled the wax figure of British actress Gillian Anderson for the first time. The 57-year-old star of The X-Files and The Last King of Scotland attended the presentation in person, and the result seems to have exceeded even her own expectations. She could not contain her emotions when she saw how strikingly accurate her «double» was.
According to Deadline, the museum’s team spent nearly a year creating the sculpture. Anderson admitted that she was initially unsure whether she should agree to having a wax figure made at all:
«When Madame Tussauds called me, I thought: Really? Who would want a figure of me?».
The statue was created in the look she wore to the 2024 Golden Globes – a provocative gown with an unconventional design. Anderson explained why she wanted this particular outfit to be immortalized:
«I believe this look represents women’s empowerment. I wanted people to have the chance to stand beside it and feel its boldness».
Designer Gabriela Hearst donated the original dress to the museum and completed the ensemble with diamonds and footwear.
