As part of Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion Week is in full swing, and the Italian house of Dolce & Gabbana has already unveiled its latest collection.

Among the audience was Meryl Streep, who had come to the city for the filming of the sequel «The Devil Wears Prada 2» and once again stepped into the role of the icy, uncompromising Miranda Priestly. Wearing white-rimmed glasses and a leopard coat, the actress kept the crowd waiting a full 37 minutes past the scheduled start.

Her dramatic entrance alongside the «fictional» art director Nigel Kipling – portrayed by Stanley Tucci in an elegant pale-gray silk suit – turned into a performance of its own. The pair took their seats in the front row, directly across from Anna Wintour, who acknowledged them with a subtle gesture and a rare smile.

Once the guests were settled, the music began: a blend of classic hits, rendered in Patty Pravo’s velvety voice. The atmospheric «Notti Bianche» – meaning «night of love» in Italian – set the mood for the evening.

The runway came alive, transformed into a boudoir. Models appeared in various stages of «undress».

The first looks showcased striped men’s pajamas embroidered with crystals, deliberately left open to reveal sequined bras, sheer tulle tops, and lace lingerie – striking a balance between playful allure and bold provocation.

At times, pajama pants were swapped for black cotton tights – a direct nod to late-1980s shows featuring Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington. Other ensembles were completed with tailored blazers, leather bombers, or miniature jacquard jackets that seemed borrowed from a grandmother’s wardrobe.

«Like a memory», Dolce explained.

The evening looks shifted the mood: striped cotton gave way to black chiffon, while the collection closed with the house’s signature tuxedos. Footwear ranged from refined satin sandals to fluffy bedroom slippers.

«The new generation», Dolce remarked, «dresses in a relaxed way, without excessive styling».

All that remains is to see how Miranda Priestly herself will judge the collection – in the upcoming film «The Devil Wears Prada 2», parts of which were filmed in parallel with the Milan show.
