Iconic Marvel artifact to go under the hammer for the first time

Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet set with genuine gemstones
One of the most recognisable objects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — Thanos’ legendary Infinity Gauntlet — is set to be auctioned for the first time by Julien’s Auctions.
The artefact will headline the «Pop Culture Legends» auction in Abu Dhabi on December 8, according to the auction house’s website.

The one-of-a-kind jewellery masterpiece is adorned with six genuine gemstones and was custom-made by New York-based jeweller East Continental Gems.
In 2019, Adam Mirzoeff, CEO of East Continental Gems, spotted a toy Infinity Gauntlet on the desk of a Marvel executive. He jokingly suggested creating a real-life version of the iconic object. That idea eventually evolved into an ambitious jewellery project.

To help bring the piece to life, Marvel provided the team with detailed, multilayered drawings of the gauntlet, allowing the jewellers to recreate its on-screen appearance as accurately as possible. Their challenge was to reproduce the familiar shape with exceptional precision while replacing the prop stones with genuine gemstones.

Particular attention has been drawn to the emerald representing the Time Stone. Mined more than a century ago, the gemstone had been kept in the jeweller’s private collection for over 30 years.
The Infinity Gauntlet was first unveiled to the public at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022. At the time, it was valued at $25 million.

Before the auction, the jewel is reportedly set to go on display in Bahrain. The Marvel artefact will then travel to Abu Dhabi, where the auction will take place on December 8.
