Number of the day: Mark Zuckerberg buys Irish castle for more than €51 million

A 19th-century gothic revival residence
Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, have purchased the magnificent Strancally Castle in Ireland.
The couple paid €51.17 million for the property, making it one of the most expensive residential real estate transactions in the country’s history, according to «The Irish Times».

The Meta founder and CEO, who is one of the wealthiest people in the world, plans to spend more time in Ireland with his wife, as the country is home to the company’s international headquarters.
Strancally Castle is located in County Waterford on Ireland’s southern coast. The three-storey Gothic Revival residence was built around 1830. Set on the banks of the River Blackwater, the estate spans approximately 440 acres.
