Glenn Close recreates her iconic Cruella look 30 years later

Glenn Close has transformed into Cruella de Vil once again — 30 years after the premiere of «101 Dalmatians».
She appeared in the character’s signature black-and-white wig and a costume reminiscent of her famous on-screen wardrobe. But the actress did more than simply recreate the look — she fully slipped back into character. Close posed for the cameras, broke into Cruella’s famous villainous laugh and even added a characteristic «woof, woof».
The appearance came during a presentation of the upcoming Villains Land at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Florida. Disney first announced the themed area in 2024 and has now revealed more details about the project. The new land will be dedicated to some of the studio’s most iconic villains, including Cruella, Maleficent, Ursula, Jafar and the Evil Queen.
According to Disney’s concept, visitors will enter a dark, enchanted forest with a mysterious ancient well at its very heart. Corrupted by dark magic, the well will become a source of power, drawing iconic villains who seek to claim its magic for themselves. Alongside the mystical atmosphere, guests can expect themed dining, exclusive shops and unique attractions.
Glenn Close first played Cruella in the 1996 film «101 Dalmatians». Four years later, she returned to the role in «102 Dalmatians». Her performance helped turn Cruella into one of Disney’s most recognizable and memorable on-screen villains.
Thirty years later, Cruella has come to life once again. And it seems the role still suits Close perfectly.
