BTS boycott the «Grammy Awards»

The group declines to participate
Global K-pop sensation BTS has announced that it will not participate in the «Grammy Awards 2027». The group revealed that it will not submit its new album ARIRANG for consideration at the prestigious music awards.
The members shared the news on social media, explaining that they want their work to be judged regardless of language or country of origin, according to Variety.
«We have decided not to submit our work for the Grammys this year. We hope music will be appreciated and loved not because of its language or geography, but simply for what it is», the group wrote.

Media outlets have linked the decision to a recent change introduced by the Recording Academy. This year, the organization announced a new category, «Best Asian Pop Performance», which will recognize K-pop, J-pop, C-pop, and other Asian pop artists. Under the rules, eligible songs must feature at least one Asian language.
BTS had widely been considered one of the leading contenders to win the newly introduced award.

Notably, despite their global success, BTS has yet to receive a Grammy Award.
At the same time, the group continues to work actively on new releases.
